At Denali Therapeutics (“Denali,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), we use our digital channels to share information about our science, our people and our commitment to individuals and families living with neurodegenerative, lysosomal storage disorders and other serious diseases.
We welcome patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, advocacy organizations, investors, job seekers and others to engage with us. To help keep our online spaces safe, inclusive and compliant with the regulations of our industry, we’ve established these Community Guidelines.
These guidelines apply to all official Denali channels, including our pages on platforms such as LinkedIn and YouTube, and other social media or digital channels we may add in the future, in addition to each platform’s own terms of service.
1. Information only, not medical advice
The content we share on our digital channels is for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not medical advice and should not be used to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
- Always talk to your healthcare provider about questions regarding your health, symptoms or treatment options.
- Never delay seeking medical advice, or disregard medical advice, because of something you saw on our channels.
2. Our community expectations
We want our channels to be respectful, supportive and constructive. By engaging with Denali online, you agree to:
- Be respectful. Do not post content that is threatening, harassing, defamatory, hateful, discriminatory or otherwise offensive.
- Stay on topic. Keep comments relevant to the post or discussion.
- Protect privacy. Do not share anyone’s personal health information or other sensitive personal data. Do not share any information that identifies, or could reasonably be used to identify, another individual or institution. This includes not referring to any specific healthcare providers or organizations.
- Avoid spam, commercial promotion and endorsements. Do not use our channels to advertise or promote products or services, recommend individuals or institutions, solicit funds or post repetitive or off-topic content.
- Respect intellectual property. Only share content (including images, videos and text) you have the right to share.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without notice, to remove content or block accounts that do not follow these guidelines or the underlying platform’s terms.
3. What we can’t discuss
Because Denali operates in a highly regulated industry, there are topics we may not be able to engage on directly in public forums. In particular, we may decline to respond to or need to remove comments that:
- Refer to specific prescription medicines (ours or those from other companies), including making claims about efficacy, safety or quality.
- Discuss off-label (unapproved) uses of any medicine.
- Include comparative claims or disparaging statements about other companies or their products.
- Contain medical advice or treatment recommendations.
- Involve ongoing clinical trials, unpublished data or other information that is confidential or proprietary.
If we remove a comment for these reasons, it’s generally to comply with regulatory or legal requirements, not to avoid hard questions. Where possible, we may suggest appropriate alternative channels for your inquiry.
4. Safety information, side effects and product complaints
If you mention a side effect (adverse event), product complaint or other safety concern related to one of our investigational or approved products, we may be legally required to follow up to learn more and to report it to health authorities.
Please keep in mind:
- Social media and comment sections are not appropriate channels for urgent safety concerns.
- If you believe you or someone else may be experiencing a side effect or medical emergency, contact a healthcare professional immediately or call your local emergency number.
- To report a side effect or product complaint related to a Denali product, please use the contact information provided here [link to Contact Us page] or at 833-ONE-DNLI.
If you post safety-related information on our channels, we may need to retain and report it even if we later remove the publicly visible comment to protect your privacy and to stay compliant with pharmacovigilance requirements.
5. Privacy and use of your information
Remember that most social media activity is public:
- Anything you post or share on Denali channels may be visible to others and may be stored or processed by Denali, the platform provider and other third parties in accordance with their policies.
- Please do not share personal health information or other sensitive personal data in public comments or direct messages.
We handle any personal information we collect through our channels in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable laws. For more details, please review Denali’s Privacy Policy here.
6. Third-party content and links
Our channels may reference, follow or share content from third parties, and users may post links or comments that lead to third-party sites.
- Denali is not responsible for content that we do not create or control, including third-party posts, comments or links.
- A follow, like, share or mention by Denali does not constitute an endorsement of that person, organization or information – or mean that a person or organization has endorsed Denali.
- We may remove links that are broken, unsafe, promotional or otherwise inconsistent with these guidelines.
7. Monitoring, moderation and response
We strive to monitor our channels regularly during normal business hours (Pacific Time), excluding weekends and holidays. However:
- We cannot guarantee that we will read or respond to every comment, message or mention.
- We may turn off comments or discontinue a channel at any time.
- We may remove content or block accounts that violate these guidelines, applicable laws or platform terms, or that appear to be fraudulent or impersonating Denali or others.
If you have a question or concern that requires a response, the best way to contact us is by using the form here so we can direct your query to the appropriate team.
8. Changes to these guidelines
We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, platforms or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates when they were most recently revised.
By continuing to engage with Denali’s digital channels after updates are posted, you agree to the revised guidelines.
